In The Community

At Lionberger Construction we’re committed to building a more sustainable and beautiful Roanoke and those efforts don’t stop at construction. For 100 years and counting, Lionberger Construction has operated from a strong ethos of community service. We’re proud to serve Roanoke and beyond through participation in community programs that build a strong quality of life for all.

Recent Community Service Highlights

Toys For Tots

Toys For Tots is an annual tradition for Lionberger Construction.  Every year, our leadership, staff and partner companies combine efforts to make Christmas magic for children in our community. In 2022, Lionberger was about to donate 1,200 toys to the drive—a record number—all thanks to the generosity of our people and partners.

National Heart Association

Lionberger has participated in the annual Heart Walk for two years. Funds go to support lifesaving breakthroughs that save lives from the nation’s No. 1 and No. 5 killers: heart disease and stroke.

Habitat For Humanity

We were honored to participate in Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build program. These national events create opportunities for women to learn how to build and construct a home. Volunteers work under the guidance of construction professionals to empower women while building or renovating a home.

Minnick Education Center

Lionberger staff put hours and manpower to work locally when they helped spread mulch for the new playground at the Minnick Education Center so area children could enjoy a safe, beautiful area to play.

Kiwanis Club of Roanoke

Lionberger Construction employees have banded together to form a team that helps clean up the iconic Mill Mountain Star, its lovely parks, and surrounding hiking trails. In an initiative headed by Kiwanis Club of Roanoke, teams gather to pick up trash and beautify the famous Roanoke overlook and beloved mountain for locals and tourists to enjoy.
